Additional Learning Needs Teachers
Additional Learning Needs Teachers work with learners who have emotional, behavioural, learning difficulties, or physical
disabilities. Also teachers may also work with exceptionally gifted pupils.
ALN Teachers specialise in working with ALN pupils in Special Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units. As an Additional Learning Needs Supply Teacher, depending on the placement, you are expected to teach the National Curriculum as far as possible, plan, prepare, deliver work, mark and assess class work, create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment for special needs pupils.
We register ALN Teachers who are qualified with QTS and registered with the EWC under the category of ‘School Teacher’.
Working with Affinity Education, you will be paid a minimum of Main Scale 2 in accordance with the School Teachers Pay and Conditions (Wales) Document.
If the criteria of Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) are met, an increased pay rate will be applied following the qualifying period.
